Service Desk Engineer

InterSTEM Recruitment is in collaboration with an industry-leading tech firm to find an exceptional Service Desk Engineer. If you excel at IT support, have professional experience in AzureAD, and are adept at both 1st and 2nd line support, then you could be the ideal candidate for this role.

What You’ll Do:

As a key player in the IT Operations team, your responsibilities will be diverse and essential to the company. You will:

  • Ensure 1st touch resolution is achieved whenever possible, and escalate when needed.
  • Accurately log, prioritise, and track incidents and requests.
  • Proactively identify recurring issues and propose innovative solutions.
  • Manage basic server, network, and infrastructure troubleshooting.
  • Assist with new starter inductions and end-user device deployments.
  • Oversee, support, and troubleshoot meeting room audio-visual equipment.
  • Take on project tasks to help implement infrastructure changes.
  • Manage IT equipment storage and oversee asset and software licensing.
  • Act with integrity and the best interests of the IT Operations team at all times.

What They’re Looking For:


  • Experience in a similar IT support role.
  • Professional experience with AzureAD is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills — capable of explaining technical concepts simply and effectively.
  • Balanced Mindset — an ability to follow procedure, yet think creatively and ‘outside the box’ when a process doesn’t make sense.
  • Demonstrated capacity for prioritising and juggling multiple tasks.


  • Experience administering Windows Server.
  • Familiarity with helpdesk software such as Zendesk.
  • Proficiency in macOS, audio-visual equipment, and basic networking principles.
