Overview

At InterSTEM, we are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Senior Java Developer for an impressive international company based in Cambridge. Our client are seeking a Senior Java Developer who is motivated and efficient in solving challenges they are faced with. The successful candidate will be joining the company at a significant time, where you will be a part of designing and deploying a new software to customers.

Our client deliver a bespoke service through close work with their customers Research and Development teams to successfully find solutions to problems that others can’t.

My client works closely with their customers to integrate APIs in data workflows before further testing and documentation of this systems. The Senior Java Developer will be developing and delivering prototypes and new components within tight time deadlines for testing within machine learning, graph technology, text mining and the resolution of problems for text based data.

Key Skills Required:

• Java 8 or Java 11, alongside software development
• Previously worked with Spring Framework and the building of RESTful web services
• A competent knowledge of Agile Software Development and other software management systems
• Object Orientated concepts
• Previous experience in the designing and building of unit-tested modular codes, further to this will be required to run the software through Linux or the cloud
• Plan and prioritise duties with flexibility for change
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Full UK Driving License and own transport

Experience desired from applicants for the Senior Java Developer:

• Development and Deployment using Java 8 or Java 11
• Knowledge in AWS, Cloud Formation, Maven, Docker and ElasticSearch
• Front end web experience with JavaScript and JQuery
• Basic knowledge or keen to learn about AI, Toolkits, Machine Learning and Scalable Architectures
