Linux Systems Administrator

Purpose of the Role

They are seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to join their Federal Services Team. This critical role involves supporting significant international public health initiatives for the US Government, managing hosted applications in Linux environments within AWS, and driving automation and system management using cutting-edge tools.

Core Tasks and Responsibilities

• Manage development, testing, and production servers.
• Execute updates and deployments in production environments.
• Engage with clients to define processes and deployment procedures.
• Ensure server security and configuration.
• Develop utility scripts and maintain existing ones.
• Discuss improvements and identify risks with clients and partners.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of processes and systems.

Required Qualifications

• Meticulous attention to detail with 5+ years in IT support and 3+ years in strong Linux administration.
• Proven cloud hosting experience with platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Expertise in MFA, Single Sign-on, or Single Password solutions with Azure/Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, or SAML 2.0.
• Adaptability in fast-paced and dynamic environments.
• Remote collaboration experience with global teams.
• US work authorisation and the ability to obtain MRPT clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with FISMA compliance, Health Information Systems, Windows administration, Python/Bash scripting, Jira/Confluence, ZenDesk, Docker, Ansible, RESTful APIs, and AWS services including CloudFormation Templates, DR setup, IAM, and RDS.
• A proactive learning mindset.
