Director of Medical Technology, Business Development

InterSTEM is supporting one of our clients who have been recognised as a platinum award winning “Best Employer”. and are a well-regarded consultancy who prioritise quality and culture over size. Our client specialises in innovative, design, and development solutions across a spectrum of industries, with a strong focus on the Medical Technology, Healthcare, Life Sciences sector.

Role: Director of Medical Technology, Business Development

Location: St. Ives, Cambridge (with international travel)

Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate a business pipeline with potential annual value of circa £5m, focusing on medical devices, diagnostics, and life sciences instruments.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with new clients and industry influencers.
  • Deepen existing strategic account relationships, collaborating across teams.
  • Tailor client solutions aligned with strategic objectives through close collaboration with the technical team.
  • Drive negotiations and close significant long-term partnerships.

About You:

  • Demonstrated success in business development and sales of consultancy services.
  • Degree in Physics, Engineering, Electronics, or Business-related fields.
  • Established professional with credible standing within the Cambridge cluster or similar ecosystems
  • Deep knowledge of product development within the medical technology, healthcare or life sciences sectors.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with executive-level stakeholders.
  • Motivated, autonomous, with a proven ability to drive business growth.
