DevOps Engineer – AI in Healthcare / Life Sciences

InterSTEM Recruitment is partnering with an avant-garde start-up based in Cambridge, leading the way in the merger of AI, image recognition, and healthcare technology. This enterprise, buoyed by a leadership team with an impressive track record in the Healthcare and Life Sciences domains, is in search of a highly skilled DevOps Engineer to bolster their innovative endeavours.

Job Role:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with the software development and infrastructure teams, playing a pivotal role in scaling and automating the AI-powered image recognition solutions, and ensuring the seamless delivery of quality software products. Your expertise will contribute directly to the efficiency and reliability of the company’s groundbreaking healthcare solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software deployments.
  • Collaborate with developers to streamline code updates, optimise workflows, and improve agile practices.
  • Implement scalable, high-performance solutions that meet the need of today’s cloud-first businesses, ensuring system availability and reliability.
  • Monitor, analyse, and optimise system performance, ensuring all systems run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Maintain and improve infrastructure, including databases, servers, and networks.
  • Adopt the latest best practices in DevOps and introduce them to the team.
  • Work on implementing security best practices at every level of the stack.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to potential incidents and provide first-response troubleshooting.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a DevOps, System Engineer, or similar role.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, Travis CI, or similar.
  • Experience with AI or machine learning environments.
  • Strong experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or a similar language.
  • A deep understanding of infrastructure as code (IAC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience in system monitoring tools and services.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with AI-based image recognition/analysis platforms.
  • Knowledge of data management and data storage solutions, especially in a healthcare setting.
  • An understanding of regulatory compliance in the health sector, such as HIPAA or GDPR for healthcare data.
