Business Manager – Healthcare

Business Manager 

Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire (Hybrid) 

 

The purpose of this role is to provide business management leadership for the global Healthcare sector, in order to profitably grow this business through new business generation (both personally and via the Sales Team), licencing opportunities and development of new services of scale. 

The role will include the promotion of the relevant commercial technology platforms for Healthcare. This will require considerable engagement with the UK and US AMP teams and facilities. 

Essential attributes include a sound technical understanding of Lucideon offerings, strong organisational skills, exceptional communication skills, and a strong work ethic. Prior experience in the Pharmaceutical/OTC formulation market is preferred. Extensive travel to customer locations and Lucideon locations globally is expected.  

Accountabilities:  

Business management accountability (including P&L responsibility) for the global Healthcare sector, including production of annual/periodic business plans and budgeting activities covering core growth, licencing programmes and new services of scale. 

Consistently achieve sector budget expectations for revenue, order intake and margin. 

Through personal and sales team activities, drive additional growth from existing clients and acquire new clients aligned to our business model. 

Be the commercial technology platform leader for Healthcare, engaging with the global AMP team to drive aligned profitable business opportunities.   

Work collaboratively with the Product Management and Technical Consultant teams to develop and commercialise successful new services of scale, aligned with prevailing Lucideon business strategy. 

Collaborate with the VP US Commerce to develop deep knowledge about the Healthcare marketplace, its core segments, Lucideon’s services and past client projects.   

Qualifications: 

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in material science, chemistry, chemical engineering or a related technical discipline. 

A relevant Marketing/Business qualification would be highly desirable. 

Experience: 

Demonstrable experience within the Healthcare sector (preferably the Pharmaceutical/OTC formulation market), including Sales and Commerce leadership and prior success in businesses with similar profiles to Lucideon. 

Proven track record of driving business growth.  

Experience in a technology consultancy would be advantageous. 

Experience of cross-territory collaboration, especially between the UK and US. 

Knowledge/Skills: 

Senior level sales skills, with demonstrable capability of penetrating major players in the sector and developing a broad, multi-level network of advocates to generate a wide base of business. 

Demonstrate competence in the “four pillars” of leadership – financial, technical/operational, people, commercial.   

Credible and with high levels of gravitas for senior-level negotiations with clients. 

Excellent influencing skills, both internally and externally, combined with a willingness to challenge existing ideas. 

High level skills in structuring the approach to the role, including key task prioritisation and maintaining a focus on the strategic aims of the business. 

Ability to work in a “one team” manner to resolve any challenges that arise internally or externally. 

Exceptional communication skills both written and oral at all levels of seniority. 

Willing to travel to client meetings within and outside territory and to Lucideon’s global locations. 

The role will be based in Stoke (UK) but will involve extensive travel to clients globally and to Lucideon’s facilities in the US.
