Business Development Manager – California

Overview

Our client, a software development and contract research organization (CRO), is looking for a dedicated and driven Business Development Manager that’s responsible for selling Discovery Services and Software Products in North America. The successful candidates will be reporting to the Head of North American Sales, with an aim to drive maximum sales growth in the field of biotech and drug discovery and pharmaceutical markets.

Responsibilities of the Business Development Manager

  • Improving the growth of sales for Software Products in the North American Region.
  • Making sure to annually maintain software license renewals in that Region.
  • Ensuring the company’s sales growth in the customer base of that Region.
  • Making sure that routine operations are carried out for the Customer Relationship Management system in that Region.
  • Deliver and report progress to the Head of North American Sales, against all the agreed commercial goals that are being defined in the sales forecast.
  • Progressing the lead generation activity in an efficient way.
  • Work with Sales Teams by coordinating in activities that help grow sales globally.
  • Defining and elaborating account plans that have strategic importance for customer prospects.
  • Represent the company as an attendant in seminars, sessions, conferences, and exhibitions inside the Region.
  • Working alongside the Discovery Team for developing enough resources for all the pre-sales activities.
  • Collecting competitive intelligence feedback from the third party existence.

Skills and Experience

  • Must have a Life Science / Scientific degree or any higher degree. Chemistry field is preferred.
  • Must have basic knowledge and understanding of all essentials of chemistry.
  • Experience in a commercial or sales role is essential.
